World Premiere IN LIGHT - Cecilia Payne and the Music of the Stars featuring Elisabeth Hetherington, Maya Fridman and Agostinho Sequeira: Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Performance on the UN International Day of Girls and Women in Science 19.30h Science pre-talk about Cecilia Payne's discovery by astronomer Professor Dominik (UvA). Concert starts at 20:15h It’s 1925. When Cecilia Payne discovers what stars and the universe are made of, her truth collides with the men in power. She must choose whether to protect her future or fight for what she knows is true. In Music of the Stars, composer/pianist Marion von Tilzer brings her own music to the story of trailblazing astronomer Cecilia Payne. It's a music theatre piece about the light of the stars that Cecilia studied and the inner light it takes to stand by what you know is true.
